Benefits of Aperture Card Scanning
By scanning and converting your aperture card archives to digital images, you can eliminate the manual and time-consuming processes associated with retrieving aperture cards and the costs and headaches associated with obsolete aperture card reader-printers. Once scanned, the information on the card can be made available to an unlimited number of users.
Aperture Card Scanner
As the aperture card is scanned, key data elements can be automatically indexed, increasing the overall value and usefulness of the information by greatly speeding up the search and retrieval process for your digital files.

Depending on the volume of aperture cards in your archives and aperture card reader equipment in your facilities, your physical storage space requirements can also be greatly reduced, freeing up your valuable office or storage space for other purposes.

Q: How many frames fit on a 35mm or 16mm roll of film?
The density of frames on a reel varies depending on the size of the source documents and the reduction ration at which it is filmed.  A one hundred foot (100') roll of 16mm firm will usually hold 2,000-2,500 frames of 8.5" x 11" documents filmed at a standard reduction ratio of 24x.  A one hunder foot (100') roll of 35mm film will hold 1,000 frames of the same size document at 12x reduction ratio.
